The facts of the previous page suggest that the computing power about 125 GFlop/s would be sufficient for a processor that

• is used exclusively for the HPCG benchmark or, more generally, for Krylov subspace methods,
• has the memory bandwidth 1000 GB/s (that can be taken as the state-of-the-art), and
• its memory bandwidth is used to about 50 % (as found in many recent supercomputers).
